Our Mission

Founded in 2017, WTCARES is the acronym for Wallace Temple Community, Activity, Resource, and Enrichment Site (WTCARES). We believe that a vibrant, equitable city is built through hands-on connection and baseline support. We are neighbors helping neighbors, standing side-by-side to ensure that no individual faces hardship alone.

After-School Program

The WTCARES After-School Program provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for elementary and middle school students. 


The program operates Monday through Friday, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, aligning with the New Jersey state school calendar from September through June.

Fun in the Sun! WTCARE Summer Camp 2022 with Director Virginia Fulmore and campers.

 The WTCARES Summer Camp 2026 (ages 5–13) provides a safe, unforgettable summer at Nicholas Oresko School P.S. #14 in Bayonne. Running weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (June 29 – Aug 14), the program blends academic enrichment with swimming and exciting field trips. We ensure affordability via NJ CCAP subsidies and tiered scholarships, with nutritious meals included for all campers. Join our "It’s a Heart Thing" mission and help your child learn and grow this summer!

 The WTCARES Virtual Learning Center provides a safe and supportive environment for students, operating Monday through Friday from various hours accommodating early school closings, some holiday closings to 6:00 PM in alignment with the New Jersey state school calendar. 


As a dedicated community initiative, we empower students to grow academically and socially through structured homework assistance, creative educational activities, and vibrant extracurricular engagement .

The WTCARES Interim Learning program empowers students, to maintain their academic momentum during brief school closures . Moving beyond standard interim assignments, we provide high-impact enrichment opportunities designed to deepen understanding and spark curiosity within the Hudson County community.

The WTCARES initiative Mother's Birthing Baby & Beyond (MB3) is designed to encourage, empower and equip mothers with life skill tools, parenting education, healthcare awareness. So that mother and child is able we live a healthier life. We aim to raise awareness and provide essential support within the Hudson County NJ community, working tirelessly to decrease maternal mortality rates in African American Women and women of color and post-partum.

Fighting local food insecurity by providing consistent access to fresh, nutritious groceries, as well as monthly diaper and women's health product distributions.
